A rarity in river cruising, our dedicated single staterooms are 280-square-foot enclaves for the solo traveler. Each room has all the same amenities as our double occupancy staterooms, including a floor-to-ceiling glass door leading to a full-size private balcony with a table and chairs. Each room also includes a small wardrobe, drawer storage, under bed suitcase storage, 54” inch led TV, writing desk, safe, and complimentary WiFi.

ACL-American Cruise Lines offers itineraries leaving roundtrip from Washington DC

These staterooms (2x Grand and 4x Sky) are two-room suites with separate living room and bedroom (both with direct terrace access, 2x TVs), dining area, marble bathroom (double-sink vanity). The 2023-built MS American Glory cruise ship is the second in a 12-ship series (Project Blue/aka Coastal Cat) of catamaran-design newbuilds in the ACL-American Cruise Lines fleet. From this (new for ACL) class are the same designed catamarans/sisterships launched two per year - in 2023 (Eagle/August, Glory/November), 2024 (Liberty/June, Legend/November), 2025 (Patriot/June, Pioneer/November), 2026, 2027, and 2028. The modern interior offers an unprecedented level of comfort and elegance and evokes a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history. The choice of color palettes, furnishings, and artwork envelops guests in a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The ACL American Glory cruise ship cabins page is conveniently interlinked with its deck plans showing deck layouts combined with a legend and review of all onboard venues.

Aft outdoor staircases interconnect decks 3-4 (Sky Lounge's Cafe with Sun Deck). The Sun Deck (Deck 4-aft) is all-teak and fitted with two sunbathing areas (padded sun loungers, low tables), a shaded seating area (hard roof-covered), a walking lane/track, open-air relaxation areas (2-seat tables, padded deckchairs, garden sofas), live plants for decoration. The catamaran hull features an aft activity platform/Marina (at the stern) from where are launched the ship's kayaks. At the stern is also mounted the tender boat which is used for passenger transportation as well as for cruising close to shore and on shallow inland waterways. Around 50% have step-out balconies, all are with large windows and en-suite bathrooms.

Decks and Cabins

The cabin is wheelchair-accessible (for disabled passengers), with two separate beds, a convenient near-lift location, and is ADA-compliant. The stateroom is designed with larger doors (entry and bath) and turning spaces, and a larger bathroom (fitted with a raised toilet seat with arms). The ship's interior design is marked by a 4-story Vestibule (glass-walled Atrium positioned midship on all cabin decks) that allows unobstructed portside and starboard views.

Full-length sliding glass doors lead out to a private balcony complete with a private dining area, the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or watch the sun set. As you cruise, enjoy the comforts of a fine hotel, including a roomy bath, large closet, sitting area, and a desk. MS American Glory has a total of 3 single cabins (for solo travelers) that can be booked with single-occupancy rates (no single supplement is required). Each stateroom has a balcony (low table + chair), French-sized bed (6x5 ft/190x140 cm), mirrored writing desk with chair, TV, bedside table with a reading lamp. The scuttling was actually celebrated as the vessel became part of an artificial reef project promoted by the Delaware State's Government. In the near future, the laying on the bottom cruise ship will be visited only by scuba divers and snorkeling enthusiasts - welcoming them with its silent decks and crew- and passenger-free cabins and public areas.

They start at 230 square feet, for lower deck cabins with fixed windows and single cabins with balconies. The largest staterooms are the pair of Grand Suites on Deck 4 which are 550 square feet and have a separate bedroom and living room and private dining on the balcony. Of those, VS-Veranda is slightly larger than the Standard Balcony, but with a premium/upper-deck location. Most staterooms (48 out of 56 total, or ~85%) feature a private, step-out balcony accessible from the living room via a sliding, floor-ceiling glass door. Cabin balconies are similarly-sized, excluding only Deck 4's suites (Grand and Sky).

Each has an interior entrance allowing for unobstructed outside views of the breathtaking scenery of America. Follows the review of ACL American Glory ship cabins as amenities, furniture and included (complimentary) services. Dubbed the “Coastal Cats”, American Glory and sister-ship American Eagle are part of a newbuild program that could see up to 12 similar vessels enter service for American Cruise Lines over the next few years. Two additional vessels are due to enter service for American Cruise Lines in 2024.

The 100-guest American Glory blends the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement, luxury, stability, and land proximity of river cruising. Observation and sitting areas will be available at the bow, while a unique Swim/Activity Platform at the stern of the ship features a tender for local exploration. The shallow draft of the vessels allows rare access into small ports and ability to travel on almost any river or waterway. The ship has only one handicapped stateroom (category AAM balcony cabin #210, located midship-starboard on Deck 2).

Launched in Fall 2023, the American Glory is one of American Cruise Lines new Coastal Cats. These new “go anywhere” ships blend the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement, luxury, stability, and land proximity of river cruising. According to Delaware Government's Artificial Reef Program, the state has 14 publicly accessible (diving permitted) artificial reef sites located in Delaware Bay and along the state's Atlantic coastal area (where the seabed is featureless - mostly sand or mud). The program started in 1995 and is designed to build a habitat for reef fish species (like seabass, scup, tautog, spadefish, triggerfish) via sinking large structures (including shipwrecks) thus providing new snorkeling and sea fishing opportunities. Among the Delaware Artificial Reef's structures (all donated) are concrete products, large rocks, tires, tugboats, ferryboats, decommissioned military vehicles, hundreds NYC subway cars (sunk mainly at Redbird Reef since 1996). Life Onboard A typical day will include an informal breakfast with your fellow guests, an exploration ashore with experienced guides followed by time cruising.

Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass panels in both the bedroom and living room are a feature of the room and lead to a 25-foot-long private balcony with a table, chairs, and chaise lounge. The living room has a full-size couch and 60” inch TV, while the dining area has ample counterspace with replenished treats and a stocked refrigerator. The master bedroom has an additional 60” TV and is available in king size or two twin bed configurations.

American Glory's christening follows the August 2023 christening of the series flagship, American Eagle, in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. American Glory will continue her Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises through March 2024 and later in November and December. Another sister ship, American Legend, is set to join American Glory later in the year, also offering Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises starting in November. American Glory, the second catamaran-type vessel in American Cruise Lines/ACL's fleet of 100-passenger Coastal Cats, was officially christened in Key West, Florida on Jan 15th.

Each evening before dinner, enjoy complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, as you mingle with other passengers to exchange the adventures of the day. In January 2022 ACL announced a plan to grow its fleet to 25+ vessels by adding 12 units of a new class (Project Blue), each with max passenger capacity 109 (plus 50 crew/staff), length 241 ft (74 m), beam/width 56 ft (17 m), 56 staterooms (~85% balconies). The first two boats (American Glory and American Eagle) were scheduled for inaugurations in 2023. Aboard American Glory, land is never out of sight, allowing guests even more time to explore each port. The modern interior offers an unprecedented level of comfort and elegance and evokes a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history.

Additional amenities in each Grand Suite include an oversized double wardrobe, underbed suitcase storage, drawer and cabinet space, writing desk, plush robes, safe, and complimentary WiFi. Amenities in your cabin include complimentary Wi-Fi, satellite television and DVD player, individual climate control, writing desk and stationery, hairdryer, spacious wardrobe, four-drawer chest and bedside table. There is no public walkway in front of any cabin, therefore all windows and balconies are completely private. Perched high above the water, each 310-square-foot Vista Private Balcony stateroom offers all the comforts of a fine hotel with commanding views of the passing scenery.

Surprisingly, on November 4, 2019, it was scuttled (deliberately sunk by a contractor company) off Delaware Bay (Delaware River's estuary) approx 28 km (17 mi) off Indian River Bay (south of Cape Henlopen / Delaware State Park). The Coastal Cats, like American Glory, reaffirm ACL’s commitment to exploring the coastal regions of the United States, from Alaska to Florida and everywhere in between. In 2024 it will offer the seven-night Cape Codder itinerary, round-trip from Boston. Following the maiden cruise, American Glory will spend the rest of the season sailing on the seven-night Historic South & Golden Isles itinerary between Charleston and Jacksonville and the 14-night East Coast Inland Passage cruise from Baltimore. A stand out facility is the adventure and swim deck, equipped with kayaks and a tender to offer a different perspective of the waterways being visited.

The boat offers the most modern and unique small ship cruising as each of the visited ports gives a glimpse into the US cultural heritage. The country-club onboard atmosphere allows passengers to relax and enjoy fellow travellers' company, as well as to share interests in American history. The public lounges and observation decks are spacious and frequented by those who wish to meet and mingle with new friends. American Glory has a Library Lounge, putting green, fitness, sunshade and lifts (serving all decks). There is also complimentary Internet, WiFi access and American staff and crew.
