Location
There’s no better place to watch the ships wind their way down the Savannah River than The Bohemian Hotel. Set along River Street, old meets new at this whimsical boutique hotel where art, history and quirk all collide like an abstract Kandinsky painting. Paying homage to the British maritime settlers who first landed on the Savannah River in 1733, the hotel’s eclectic collection of artworks and contemporary design aesthetic with vintage touches are carried throughout all 75 guest rooms and suites.
The lobby was very inviting with friendly staff and wonderful music. Established in 1733, Savannah’s place in American history is as deeply rooted as the iconic live oak trees that drip in Spanish moss and line the city’s cobblestone streets. The breakfast was good and the dessert bar was an added bonus.
And more than one reader complimented the Lost Square, the hotel's rooftop bar, which serves up casual bites and delightful cocktails with panoramic views of the quaint downtown and the river. The Savannah House Hotel has a convenient position for travelers who want to explore the main attractions in Branson during the day and return to a quiet hotel at night. It's on a calm street off Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, built on an incline, which makes for excellent views of the Ozarks from the front of the hotel and a few lucky, well-placed rooms (most overlook the parking lot). It's about a five-or 10-minute drive to the main attractions in Branson, like the famous 76 Country Boulevard strip and Theatre District. The Sight and Sound Theatres are a 15-minute walk to get to. The biggest draw for guests is access to The Club at Savannah Harbor, which includes the hotel’s recently revamped 18-hole golf PGA championship golf course as well as the Heavenly Spa by Westin which offers an array of treatments from facials to massages.
There's a gorgeous lawn area -- blooming flowers, cascading water down rocks, and a pretty gazebo fill the space. Since the hotel is on a steep incline (be sure to put on the parking brake), views of the Ozarks are lovely, although most rooms overlook the concrete parking lot. Inside, the lobby has multiple seating areas with brown leather couches, cabinets lined with books and bric-a-brac, and even sculptures of a boy and a Dalmatian -- both wearing American flag bandanas. A conference center primarily attracts social gatherings. Most guests, both families and couples, at the hotel like that its in a quiet area a little bit removed from the hub of Branson.

Grab a seat on the balcony at the second-floor restaurant, Tubby’s, which serves a delightful low country boil and is one of the best places to post up and listen to live music as you watch life along the river pass you by.
